Do any large mutual funds split up management? We Answered:
The problem is not with the fund manager being overworked and becoming ineffective. There are plenty of mutual funds that have numerous managers or a management team of sorts. The real problem is that when a mutual funds assets get so large, there becomes fewer good investments for the manager to purchase and stay within the parameters and investment guidelines outlined in that mutual funds prospectus.Basically, after a fund gets to be so large, the fund manager has already bought up all of the promising investments that match the investment goals of that particular fund and the manager needs to find a place to invest that money so he/she/they have to start purchasing investments that are less promising. This causes the performance of the mutual fund to suffer, but the manager has no choice because any investments that are purchased within the mutual fund must match to funds prospectus guidelines.

financial question... (mutual funds)?We Answered:
closed-end funds are generally considered to offer a fixed number of shares, but that does not necessarily hold in actuality. They offer the option of re-investing dividends which increases the number of outstanding shares. They also have been know to issue rights to buy more shares.
