Bill Said:

Does the Federal Government have any Grant Programs for funding of school crossing guards.?

We Answered:

I think the money for that comes out of the general budget for schools. SO in a way yes and no.

Mabel Said:

Should the government end Affirmative Action, end federal funding for the NAACP & the black caucus?

We Answered:

Absolutely...candidate for jobs should all compete on the same playing field..allocating some jobs/positons based on gender or color is just detrimental to us as a nation. Everyone is created equal and it is about time the USA stopped pandering to certain groups!

Dolores Said:

Is the Federal Govt overstepping its boundaries under the Constitution by expending Social & Welfare Programs?

We Answered:

The federal governments powers are listed in Article 1, Section 8. Social policy is not among the powers listed. I love how liberals cite Hamilton. He was for strict interpretation of the general welfare clause in the Federalist Papers (pre-Constitution), and advocated the broad, nonsensical interpretation of it in his Report on Manufactures (post-Constitution). Why did he change his views?

"With respect to the words general welfare, I have always regarded them as qualified by the detail of powers connected with them. To take them in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs was not contemplated by its creators."

"If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one, subject to particular exceptions."

-- James Madison

Jo Said:

Matching funds program by the federal government for endangered species..??

We Answered:

The Federal Government through the Department of Interior's Fish and Wildlife Service have a program that splits the cost of buying and or trading land with landowners that is off set (fenced off) to be used as habitat for endangered species.

Example: The Southwest Willow Flycatcher (its a bird) that is endangered, the government buys land near the Rio Grande river and fences it off so the birds' nests will not be disturbed.

Melanie Said:

Can States Fund Federal Government Programs? ?

We Answered:

Damn right , they can . Have you ever ' really " looked into where your tax dollars are going ?

Elmer Said:

What Federal Government programs could most of us live without?

We Answered:

1. Get rid of the IRS and charge a flat tax.

2. Department of Education. Let every state delegate what is needed for their children. We don't need three layers of government to tell us what to teach our kids, because most of them are wrong!

3. Merge Defense and Home Land Security. Get rid of FEMA and have the new merged department handle everything during disasters with National Guard troops. FEMA was worthless during Katrina. Think what would happen if we were attacked or had a nuclear emergency like in Jericho on CBS.

4. Merge Navy and Coast Guard.

5. Merge Transportation with Commerce since they compliment each other.

6.Merge Defense/HLS with CIA and FBI. Have our Defense/Intell under one building so that memos about people flying planes into buildings don't get misplaced.

I have other ideas, but this should be enough for now.

Hector Said:

Why doesn't Obama push to reform government health care programs before messing with ours?

We Answered:

Or here's a better idea...

Tell the Federal government to stick to what is constitutionally required of it rather than telling the states and the people what they MUST do with their lives and governments.

In the many many readings of the Constitution, I've failed to see where providing health care to the masses is included. The Federal government was created to answer TO the people/states. Not make the people/states SUBMIT to its will.
