I would suggest hitting the library, looking at the latest scholarship on the topic (especially the bibliographys) that will provide you the "who's who" of academic experts on the topic and usually the WHERE they found the primary materials they used in their research. Contact both these experts and the WHEREs and start networking with them and sharing your ideas and listening to theirs.
