Do u feel that ANY American President,is just a "puppet?" For the GLOBAL ELITE that funded their campaign?

We Answered:

Of course the Pres. in only a puppet.
I think it is the big oil cartels that are pulling the strings not the mafia.
It really doesn't matter who the pres. is,he has no real power.

Can I choose where my 401(k) money is invested?

We Answered:

You can almost certainly choose what you where you want it invested.

Get your most recent statement and call Merrill Lynch. Tell them that you've left the company and would like options on investing the money. In all likelihood, they'll be happy to help you -- probably directing you to a web page with the options that you have available to you.

Given that you only worked there 2 years, you probably don't have a huge amount in the account. If you're young (20-40 years old), I'd pick a stock index fund (S&P 500, Russell 1000, or something like that) that has a low "operating expense ratio" -- that means that the operators of the fund will take out a smaller portion of your money for themselves. You should be able to find a stock fund with an OER lower than 0.30%.

If you're older (40-60), then you might want something more stable, like a bond index fund (same thing with the OER, though -- get a low one!). Although if it's just a few thousand dollars, you might want to put this in stocks anyway! :-)

Good luck -- post another question here (or add a comment to this one) if you run into any problems,

Why doesn't America scrap the Presidential candidates and select a real American leader ourselves!?

We Answered:

Didn't President Clinton attempt to stop the Lobbyist money while he was in office? If I remember right, he did, and it was very readily shot down by all of those you say are corrupt.

I agree with exactly what you are saying. The Media has way too much influence on people's minds, and are literally turning many into little robots. It's all about money these days. Just look at the focus on the stupid little rich kids like Paris Hilton. Today's mindset is all about profit. Maximize profits, no matter who you hurt in the process, or dishonest you have to be, just do it. Money money money and more money!

I think good smart people are afraid to run for a candidacy because they feel like you have to be a billionaire to do it. They are also afraid of whether or not they can stand up to the "good old boy" network of corruption, and playing the political game. There are very few people in the world who have that kind of strength.

I think Baroque O'Bama is the 1st person to even make that attempt in years. Yes he is inexperienced in a lot of ways, but his intelligence and common sense make up for it. So, the closest we can get at this point is elect him as President. it would at least be a start. Put his smarts, and Hillary's experience together, and there would be a dynamic duo. I bet they could accomplish a lot.

Katie Said:

Are these Mutual funds/bonds good for a long term IRA?

We Answered:

Just a quick look says you should do well...I'd say high teens ( percentage wise ) for the two internationals...and just under 10% for the " American companies"
The internationals have nice sized holdings in raw materials, which should do well for at least a few more years...
As far as the bond fund... I would just say... it does not have to be a large ( over 25%) portion of your holdings. If you're going to hold things over 20 -25 years , you may just want to put that portion in whatever " life- cycle" funds your particular fund company offers....let a manager balance your bonds/ stocks for that time.
Just some thoughts...
